Your brand is what your company stands for and what it is known for.   "Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what you stand for.   Go around the room with your leadership and ask them what the company stands for.   Settle on one or two brand pillars and build your brand around them.   If you can't define your brand, your customers won't be able to, either.   And the risk is that someone else will define it for you&mdash;probably your competitors," Roeser says.

...As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for.   Optimizing a website may involve editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.   Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

This creates simple images, and research has demonstrated that this is the way the human brain sees and stores images.


Vector art is easier for a computer to save than bitmap images and takes up less space on a file, which is likely why the brain saves images in the same way.   In fact, a poster-sized image saved as vector art will only take up a few kilobytes of memory.   The same image saved with medium resolution may not even fit on one CD-ROM as a bitmap image.


...Vector art is akin to the type of imaging typically used to create cartoon images found in comic strips.   In addition, vector art is typically used to create business logos and signs, making them easy for the brain to remember.


In addition to taking up less computer space to save and to process, there are some other advantages associated with using vector art rather than bitmap art.   One of these advantages is the fact that vector art images can be easily enlarged without distorting the image.   Bitmap art, on the other hand, becomes jagged when enlarged, as the squares used to create the image are enlarged.

A magazine is always viewed straight-on at arms length, so letter spacing can be as tight as you like and the words will still be readable.   A poster is, more often than not, viewed obliquely, which distorts the type to some extent.   Here, a little extra letter spacing helps identification of the individual characters, and hence the words.


...Add to these the elastic nature of a Web page, which has to work across different computer platforms and screen sizes, and the problems get even worse.   It is the designer's job to understand these issues and to address them &mdash; to maintain some kind of control when everything else is shifting.


The SeveNet font family is no longer available from this site, but may be available from the Fountain Type Foundry in Sweden.   As with MINI 7, it is a 7-point Macintosh screen font.   It has no PostScript or TrueType printer font and no lowercase characters. ...
